Homing pigeons are specially bred birds (commonly referred to as racing pigeons) capable of returning to their home loft over long distances. Organised homing events are commonly referred to as pigeon racing.

As Australia's Premier One Loft Event and one of the sport's recognised innovators, the Mallee Classic has always believed that knowledge should be preserved, shared and made accessible to future generations.

This Articles Centre has been created to help achieve that vision.

Preserving Knowledge for Future Generations

The history of homing pigeons is rich, fascinating and often overlooked.

For generations, valuable information has been shared through clubs, newsletters, magazines, conversations and personal experiences.

Unfortunately, much of that knowledge can be lost over time.

The Mallee Classic Articles Centre aims to preserve and share information along with the Australian Pigeon Centre and the Australian Pigeon Council Ltd
